This is an exciting course and I am sure you will learn some of the most interesting principles related to Advanced Physiological Nursing. After successful completion of the course, you will have a much greater understanding of Advanced Physiological Nursing issues that are applicable to the delivery of health care services, as well as some of the most current and pressing issues in care delivery.
This course is a undergraduate level course. It is formatted to be self-directed, along with one-on- one mentoring by faculty. As your instructor, you and I communicate throughout your time spent in this important study. Communication can be by the e-mail and fax. As a undergraduate level course, you must be prepared to operationalize the concepts learned into the reality of today's health care environment.
The readings in the text, the analysis of case studies supplied in the text, our discussions, and your weekly assignments will assist in meeting this broad-based goal.

SUMMARY:
This is a course for students in the BSN program. This is an advance level BSN course that focuses on the many principles and theories of Advanced Physiological Nursing as it relates to health care delivery. The course allows students to progress through from history to treatments.
Students follow the course and chapter objectives and proceed toward graduation. Some of the topics/subjects covered include; history and mobility disorders.
Learning will provide students with the necessary foundation to progress toward graduation.
The course is formatted as an online course. There is a midterm and a final examination. Students are encouraged to submit questions; and discuss issues and problems in Advanced Physiological Nursing. Reading assignments from the textbook are assigned with supporting objectives. There may be weekly written responses to related questions that are to be turned into the instructor as detailed below.

EXAMINATIONS:
Minimally, there are two examinations for this course. For example, there may be a mid-term examination and a final examination.
The examinations are of the subjective and objective type. The examinations are "open" book. They thoroughly test knowledge in key areas of course content. While open book, they require thought and knowledge of the related content for successful completion.
Both examinations are taken "online." The examinations are accessed through the web site for Canyon College. When you are ready to take the examinations, please e-mail me directly and request authorization to take your exam. I will in turn notify the College that you may have exam access. You will receive a notice from the College's administrative offices that you are permitted to have access to the examination.
When you are ready to take the examinations, access the web site, and take the examination. The examinations are graded after completion and you will be notified. Most times within 3 business days of the completion of your exam, you will receive its score.
Please plan to take the midterm exam by the end of the week of the "mid" week of the course. The final examination must be taken by the last day of the final week of the course.
GRADE ASSIGNMENT FOR EXAMINATIONS:
You will receive a letter grade, based on your over all score achievement. The grading scale is

You will receive a numerical score for each examination. Your final course grade will be a computer average of the scores you achieve on both examinations.
I will e-mail your score for each of the examinations. I will email your letter grade for the Midterm period and for the Entire course.
READING ASSIGNMENTS:
Your reading assignments are self-paced. The reading assignment schedule will be given upon enrollment.
REVIEW OF OBJECTIVES:
You are responsible for reviewing the objectives (provided throughout the course) for each chapter in the textbooks, prior to reading and studying the chapter. The objectives will guide you in your learning and assist you in knowledge attainment. The objectives are provided for your benefit.
WHAT TO DO:
