Instructors Background:
A Bachelor's of Applied Science in Industrial Technology from the University of Michigan; A Master's of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (commonly known as--Thunderbird) in Glendale, AZ in 1987. While there I have had classes in International Marketing, International Law, Counter trade, and International Trade Administration. The instructor has worked over 20 years for four multinational corporations. She has worked in International Sales, International Marketing, International Operations and International Project Management. She has taught in an MBA-Global Management programs were she specializes in Global Marketing, Global Operations and International Project Management. She has worked in Mexico and China. In addition, she has visited and studied Mexico's, Japan's, and China's business environments. Her regions of interest are Latin American especially Mexico and Asia especially Japan.

Course Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to provide a basis for understanding the global business environment and a person's place in it. The global business environment has increasingly influenced our professional, business and personal lives. This phenomenon has been "turbo-charged" since the mid-1990's due to the sky rocketing popularity of the Internet. It can make any company instantaneously a global company.

Course Scope:
This course encompasses the entire spectrum of International Business, which is a multi-dimensional version of an entire degree in (domestic) business. Topics covered will include International Economics, International Finance, International Marketing, International Law, Global Operations and International Human Resources. This is not an easy course, there are 21 Chapters and 770 pages to be covered in 8 weeks. You maybe tested on the entire chapter including the case studies at the beginning and end of the chapter.

  3. Concepts you are having difficulty with, if any. This is worth the final 100 points of your grade.

It is strongly suggested that you take the multiple-choice quiz after each chapter. At least one question from each chapter on the quiz will be on the exams.
