Course Overview:

This course will give the student an overview in personal risk management and insurance. It will examine Personal Risk Management, Homeowners Property Coverage, Homeowners Property Coverage-Perils, Exclusions and Conditions, Homeowners Liability Coverage, Homeowners Endorsements and Variations, Other Residential Insurance, Personal Auto Insurance: Liability and Medical Payments, Uninsured Motorists and No-Fault, Physical Damage and Endorsements, Insurance for Recreational Vehicles, Watercraft and Excess Liability, Developing Personal Insurance Products, Underwriting Profitability for Personal Insurance, Pricing Personal Insurance Products, Reunderwriting Personal Insurance Portfolios and Gaining Efficiencies in Personal Insurance Operations.

Week 2: Read Chapters 3 & 4 in text. Complete Matching Exercise
Week 3: Read Chapters 5 & 6 in text. Complete Matching Exercise
Week 4: Read Chapters 7 & 8 in text. Complete Matching Exercise

Week 5: Review and Mid-Term Exam: True-False covering Chapters 1 through 8.

Week 6: Read Chapters 9 & 10 in text. Complete Matching Exercise
Week 7: Read Chapters 11 & 12 in text. Complete Matching Exercise
Week 8: Read Chapters 13 & 14 in text. Complete Matching Exercise
Week 9: Read Chapters 15 in text. Complete Matching Exercise

Week 10: Review and Final Exam: True-False covering Chapters 9 through 15.

All assignments must be submitted to the instructor no later than 5 PM (CST) on each Sunday of the week.

Grading: 20% of the grade will come from the weekly assignments and 80% from the Mid-term and Final exams, equally.
