Course Description:
This course explores the use of instructional use of technology, audiovisual materials, the Internet and computers in an educational setting. The course stresses the integration of technology in education, the issues involved in educational technology including current educational technology standards, and practical application of technology skills. The NetQ Model will be discussed and used throughout the course.
Course Goals:
Assess level of student’s technology integration tools.
Observe and react to technology integration as it is practiced in a contemporary classroom
and use feedback to identify professional needs in regard to technology use in the classroom.
Explore how software enhances curriculum and learning and provides flexibility across subject
areas and ages, at all levels.
Grow in understanding how student learning can be improved by the use of both hard and soft
technologies
Document experience using many of these available educational technologies
Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of learning, technology and educational
practice
Be able to communicate critically thinking regarding these concepts
Be able to find creative solutions to problems within an educational and group process
context using group-process skills to work productively in a team
Grow in the understanding of the need to integrate principles in a technology-rich society
Course Requirements:
