Course overview:

Securing grants in today’s society and economy has become highly important in the areas of business, government, non-profit institutions, education , and many other socio-economic areas that surround us.

This course will assist students, professionals, and researchers in general to build and develop their skills in writing grants and proposals directed to commensurate organizations.

Course Requirements:

The student will write a Grant Proposal of his/her choice to be presented to a certain industry. The proposal will be APA style and a selected number of references.
  1. Six report submissions depicting the progress of the grant proposal.
  1. Submission of the final grant proposal which is selected by the student and which directed to a specific industry.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

WEEK #1

Introduction: An Overview of the Grant-seeking Process.

Step One: Developing The Proposal Idea

Submit to the professor via e-mail a three- page report pertinent to the development of your proposal idea.

WEEK #2

Step Two: Developing Relationships With Funders

Step Three: Writing a Compelling Need Statement

Submit to the professor via e-mail a three-page report pertinent to your compelling need statement for the proposal.

WEEK #3

Step Four: Defining Clear Goals and Objectives

Step Five: Developing Your Methods

Submit to the professor via e-mail a five-page report pertinent to your goals , objectives, and methods for the development of your proposal.

WEEK #4

Step Six: Preparing the Evaluation Component

Step Seven: Developing Sustainability Strategies

Submit to the professor via e-mail a three-page report pertinent to developing your sustainability strategies for the proposal

WEEK #5

Step Eight: Preparing the Program Budget

Step Nine: Writing the Organization Background Component

Submit to the professor via e-mail a five-page report pertinent to the preparation of your program budget and describing the organization background component.

WEEK #6

Step Ten: Writing the Proposal Summary

Step Eleven: Putting the Package Together

Step Twelve: Sustaining Relationships with Funders

Submit to the professor via e-mail a six-page report pertinent to creating a proposal summary, placing the entire package together, and your strategy in sustaining relationships with funders.

WEEK #7
