INFORMATION REGARDING CERTIFICATION

Graduates of the Grief Counseling and Thanatology Certificate program offered by Canyon College may apply for Certification as a Certified Grief Counselor, through the American Academy of Grief Counseling, a division of the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (AIHCP). Our program has been reviewed and approved as meeting the educational requirements needed to obtain certification. Those graduates who obtain certification through the American Academy of Grief Counseling may use the initials, GC-C, after their names (Certified Grief Counselor). The Academy also offers a "Fellowship" program in Grief Counseling.

APPROVED CONTACT HOURS/CEU'S - Graduates of the Grief Counseling and Thanatology Certificate program offered by Canyon College may apply for approved continuing education contact hours through the Center for Professional Education, a division of the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (AIHCP). Our program has been reviewed and approved for 180 hours. Graduates are required to contact the AIHCP on their own to obtain their certificate of approved contact hours. There is a $ 5.00 processing fee to obtain the certificate.
