INFORMATION REGARDING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
There is currently one option for graduates to pursue certification as a certified Holistic
Nurse, that we have knowledge of. Below is listed the certifying corporation. The choice to
pursue certification is an individual choice, and the selection of a certifying agency is a
personal choice, as well. This information is provided as a means to inform only. Graduates must
contact the certifying organizations below on their own. Canyon College does not assist in
making any types of contacts.
American Holistic Nurses' Certification Corporation - this corporation is located in
Arizona. They provide a certification process for nurses to become certified in Holistic
Nursing. Certification is by examination. Interested students and graduates of Canyon College's
certificate program in Holistic Nursing Practice should contact this certification corporation
directly to obtain information regarding the certification process and eligibility requirements.

American Holistic Nurses' Association - this is the official association for nurses in
Holistic nursing practice. They do not offer a certification. However, students and graduates
of the Canyon College certificate program in Holistic Nursing Practice, may wish to pursue
membership in this association. The association offers a full spectrum of benefits, including a
newsletter and journal. Those interested in learning more should contact the association
directly.

APPROVED CONTACT HOURS/CEU'S - The certificate program in Holistic Nursing Practice and
Wellness Counseling has been approved for 90 contact hours of continuing education by the
American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc., through its division, "The Center for
Continuing Professional Education." Graduates of our certificate program can contact the American
Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc, (AIHCP) and receive a formal certificate detailing
achievement of contact hours.
The AIHCP is a non-profit organization dedicated to the growth and support of quality health
care practice. Its division, the Center for Continuing Professional Education reviews and
approves continuing education programs in healthcare, according to standards and criteria for
quality healthcare education programs that offer a significant contribution to participants.

The holistic nurse program offers both continuing education credits
and certification for holistic nurses who are wishing to obtain either. The holistic nurse program
offers nurses an opportunity to obtain their continuing education credits online. Nurses and
