Summary: Canyon College offers the most comprehensive and affordable Clinical Hypnotherapy Program available today. This course adequately prepares for practice as a Clinical Hypnotherapist utilizing a wide variety of modern and effective techniques.

The entire certificate program consists of 305 hours of independent and faculty mentored study and practicum. At the completion of the program, students receive; 1) a college certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy, 2) verification transcripts of 305 hours of study, 3) 20 college semester hours, and 4) qualification to obtain certification from many of the reputable certification boards both nationally and internationally.

As students progress through the course, they will become eligible during the phases of the program to obtain certification as a hypnotist and a clinical hypnotherapist even prior to completion of the certificate program.

The objectives of this program of study are:

To prepare students for practice as a hypnotist and clinical hypnotherapist using the most modern therapeutic skills and modalities.

To attain a large body of knowledge and skill in clinical hypnotherapy.

To meet the requirements of the most reputable certification boards for certification as a clinical hypnotherapist.

To prepare students to begin their practices and careers as clinical hypnotherapist.

To develop a large base of knowledge and skill in a multitude of clinical hypnotherapy specialties.

To provide a college credential for clinical hypnotherapists.

To prepare students for safe and ethical practice as a clinical hypnotherapist.

Course and Program Features:

Our certificate program is presented in three major parts or components:

1) Basic Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy,
2) Intermediate Clinical Hypnotherapy,and
3) Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy. Students must successfully complete all three components of the program to graduate with the college certificate.

Our program provides for 305 hours of study and 20 college semester hours.

Our program is formatted as an "on-line" course. Enrolled students receive a password and access to the "on-line" class room.

Our program uses the most authoritative texts, manuals and videos in the field today.

Self-directed independent study is complimented with one-on-one faculty mentoring and instruction.

Access to the instructor is via email, message boards and telephone.

The hypnotherapy "on-line" classroom provides for message boards for students to post questions, thoughts, ideas, dialogues, etc. As such, students have access to and interaction with each other and the instructor.

The hypnotherapy "on-line" class room provides for chat rooms for students and faculty. Chat sessions are scheduled at various times and students are encouraged to enter the class room and participate.

All course examinations are "on-line." When students are ready to take their examinations, they enter the "on-line" classroom and access the examinations.

Our certificate course provides for mentor-directed clinical practicums in which students complete assignments in actual hypnosis and hypnotherapy via audio and/or video formatting and are evaluated and graded by faculty.

Students have 12 months to complete the entire course of study.

Students receive full instructions via the hypnotherapy classroom for ordering required texts, manuals and course videos.

The "on-line" classroom provides full information on each course, including course summaries, objectives. Information on becoming certified is also provided.

Program Curriculum

Level I - Basic Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

Part 1 - Basic and Self Hypnosis	20 hours of instruction/study
Part 2 - The Art of Hypnosis	45 hours of instruction/study
Part 3 - Advanced Hypnosis	20 hours of instruction/study
Part 4 - The Art of Hypnotherapy	45 hours of instruction/study
Part 5 - Self Hypnosis	10 hours of instruction/study
Part 6 - Power Hypnosis	25 hours of instruction/study
Part 7 - Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis	45 hours of instruction/study
Part 8 - Clinical Practicum	10 hours of instruction/study

Total hours of Instruction/Study = 220 hours

Note: You must successfully complete all of the 8 courses above to successfully pass Level I, and move on to Level II in the program.

Level II - Intermediate Clinical Hypnotherapy

Part 1- Trance Work	20 hours of instruction/study
Part 2- Clinical Practicum	10 hours of instruction/study

Total Hours of Instruction/Study = 30

Note: You must successfully complete both of the courses above to successfully pass Level II, and move on to Level III in the program.

Level III - Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy

Part 1- Breath Work and Meditation	20 hours of instruction/study
Part 2- Comprehensive Stress Management	30 hours of instruction/study
Part 3- Clinical Practicum	5 hours of instruction/study

Total Hours of Instruction/Study = 55

Note: You must successfully complete all 3 of the courses above to successfully pass Level III, and graduate with a Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy

You may begin your studies effective December 1, 1999. You will receive your own private access passwords to the "on-line" classroom where full information, assignments, etc are provided. You will be contacted with more instructions by your faculty mentor/instructor. You will be provided with comprehensive and easy to follow instructions for ordering required texts, manuals, videos.
