COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course provides a survey of the taxation of individuals and a more in-depth study of the taxation of business entities. It covers the relationship that managerial and financial accounting have to each other. You will learn about the organizational role of management accountants in the management process. The course will cover the basic cost terms and applies them within a job order cost system.

For each chapter you will be required to read E-Lectures, complete a Review Problem and take an Interactive Quiz.

This web site will lead you to a homepage with several textbooks listed. The textbook for our course is:

The next page will give you several choices. Choose “Interactive Study Center”.

Please select the Chapter you are currently studying.

Please select either the E-Lecture, or Review Problem, or Interactive Quiz on the bar located at the top of the screen.

HOMEWORK

Every week there will be homework assignments for each of the chapters covered.
Homework is due every Monday by midnight (MST).

Late Homework Assignments: Late assignments will be not be accepted without prior notification to instructor. The assignment will be accepted if submitted within 7 days of the due date. There will be a 50% deduction in grade. It will not be accepted after this time period.

Please make sure your name is included on the face of the homework. I need to be able to see your name when I print the homework. Make sure you do a print preview before submitting homework. This will make sure your homework is contained within the page margins. If homework is submitted in the improper format, points will be deducted from the grade.

Please make sure you name the file after the chapter covered. For example, for week one, you should have “T-1 homework” and your name in the subject line of your e-mail.

EXAMS

There is a midterm and final exam. The mid-term exam will cover chapters 1,2,15,3,4,6 and 7. The final will cover chapters 9,10,11,12, and 14.

Exams are required to be completed timely. Exams which are not completed within the time frame will not be accepted.

The student should make sure that they have the book for the course. After the student receives their course book, the instructor and student should agree upon a start date for the student. Homework is always due on Mondays. The course will begin the first Monday after the agreement.
