Course Description: This course provides students with an opportunity learn about the basic business forms that exist in this country. From sole proprietorship to LLC, students will learn about why some business forms are more appropriate than others to meet a client’s needs at a pace suited to their timetable.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
Define the business forms in the text
Explain the differences of the business forms
Understand issues of tax liability and how that might affect the selection of an appropriate business form
See how people may manage personal liability based upon their participation in the business.
Grading
Students will take open-book quizzes (70% of the final grade), a mid-term (15% of the grade) and a non-cumulative final (15% of the grade). All testing is multiple choice. All testing is open book.
Schedule
After each quiz, a student must take a multiple-choice, 20 question, open-book quiz. After chapter 6, students will need to take a 20 question, open book multiple choice exam. It will be on the materials in chapters 1-6. The final, which is also 20 questions, multiple choice, will be on chapters 7-12 only.
Policies
Instances of academic dishonesty, including but not limited to reliance upon others for answers to questions or for access to information which could lead to the earning of a grade in this class outside of the described and required conditions, will result in a grade of zero per incident. All participants engaging in this conduct will receive a zero.
