The course schedule and assignments are listed below.

Introduction: Welcome to Advanced Nutrition, a required course for the Doctor of Naturopathy Degree in the School of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Care at Canyon College. Nutrition has long been one of the primary modalities used in naturopathic health care; not only for the prevention of disease, but also in healing of the human body and for the restoration of health. This course will focus on nutrition as a science that integrates biochemistry from the cellular level through the integration and regulation of metabolism in the whole organism. The goal of this course is to apply the basic sciences to the study and understanding of the metabolism of macronutrients in the body and how it relates to nutritional health. This course will give students the needed understanding of nutrition at the biochemical and metabolic level so that the information may be applied to clinical nutrition.

This course is a prerequisite for NH 745 Nutritional Therapeutics.
