Course Overview: This is three-semester hour elective course designed to be completed in ten weeks. As
soon as you receive your textbooks you may begin your course of study.
There are no prerequisite course requirements for this course.
Introduction: Welcome to “Building a Holistic Health Practice”, an elective course for the Doctor of
Naturopathy Degree in the School of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Care at Canyon College. This course is
designed to provided practical information on how to build a successful holistic health practice. Topics covered
include identifying your practice population, generating and motivating your clients, details for setting up and
managing your practice, supplies and equipment, legal considerations, office policies, and developing a business
plan.
Course Objectives:
Determine your ideal client/patient population.
Develop strategies for building your practice population.
Describe the daily routine office flow for your future practice.
Determine legal considerations for your particular practice.
Develop a working business plan.

Students are required to obtain their own textbooks and are encouraged to acquire the texts as soon as possible in

There are no formal written examinations for this course.

Your final course grade will be determined by evaluation of your Final Course Project.
