This class focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder in school settings. This course is important for school counselors and therapists working with behavior disordered children.
The successful student will be able to:
Define behaviors associated with ODD/CD
Relate different methods of diagnosing ODD/CD including medical examination, diagnostic interview, rating scales, tests, and observational measures
Describe co-existing or co-morbid conditions
Discuss possible causes for this disorder
Participate in treatment planning including writing behavior plans
Describe the role of special education as part of the treatment plan
Develop social skills training for use during therapy
