Course Objective:
To gain a greater understanding of the application of Cognitive Therapy with clients in crisis. This course studies how crisis counseling can be implemented in various settings, addressing various problems/issues. Provides the therapist with a background in the theory of client crisis and its treatment. Introduces the therapist to the methodology and application of the theory to clients in crisis.

Course Requirements:
There will be three exams given in this course. The exams are not cumulative. Each exam covers the material in the textbook and follows the schedule noted below: Writing assignments essentially involves the student emailing the instructor up to 3 questions each of the 8 weeks. The questions can cover the materials they are reading or the student can bring in issues or concerns related to the course materials but may not specifically be covered in the course materials.

Second Exam - 30%
Third Exam – 30%
Written Assignments - 10%
