COURSE OBJECTIVE:

Upon completion of this course, the student will have a basic understanding of the biological, sociological, and psychological perspectives of human sexuality.

COURSE PURPOSE:

This course will look at different components relating to the various areas of human sexuality and its influences on today's society.

METHOD:
  1. E-mail correspondence one-on-one with the instructor. Each student must contact the instructor by e-mail during the first week they begin the course. I would appreciate the following information: name, e-mail address, registration number, state in which you reside, course expectations, brief work experience, educational background, and any interests you may wish to share.
This is worth 20 points toward your final grade.
  2. Assigned reading and assignments as identified below. Each chapter contains a certain number of questions throughout the text designed for reflection and application to society. Questions can be found on the pages identified below. Except for one case, each page only contains one question.
  3. From the text, "Sexuality Today" you will be required to write responses to highlighted questions throughout the text. Your responses should be in the form of a paragraph and should include reference to the applicable sections of the text. I am looking for your thoughts and views relevant to the text and how the material has applied or does apply to your life.
Each response will be worth a maximum of 10 points toward your final grade.
  4. There will be a mid-term exam at the end of the 4th week consisting of T/F and Multiple Choice questions. The mid-term will cover material from chapters 1 - 10 of the text.
The mid-term will be worth 100 points toward you final grade.
  5. There will be a final exam at the end of the 8th week consisting of T/F and Multiple Choice questions. The final exam will cover material from chapters 11 - 19 of the text.
The final exam will be worth 100 points toward your final grade.
  6. Classroom discussion is also possible if desired, but I would prefer one-on-one e-mail. I respond to e-mail on a daily basis unless notified otherwise.
