Course Objective: Upon completion of this course, the student will have an extended
knowledge of professional group processes and outcomes, which are emerging at an unprecedented
rate. This course will assist the student in accessing the current findings and remain current
in social work practice despite the ethical obligation to do so.
Course Purpose: This course will feature enhanced clinical intervention and practice
which must meet several criteria. First, they must incorporate the best and most current
knowledge available. Second, they must have a strong focus on applied methodology and offer
specific guidance for day to day practice in ordinary agency and private practice settings.
Method:
Assigned reading assignments
E-mail correspondence one on one with instructor at least once during the eight week course.
Please submit the following information to the instructor as soon as possible: name, e-mail address,
user name, course expectations, brief work experience, educational background and any
special interests you may wish to share.
Message board participation for individual and group discussions are available upon request.
Class room (chat room) discussions are also possible if desired.
Exams: Midterm and Final exam's are each worth 50% of the course grade.
