Upon completion of this degree, our students have advanced knowledge in the areas of their specialization and the capability of implementing such knowledge. This degree is mainly for practitioners – executives and managers (administrators) in business, government, non-profit organizations, and consultants. It offers practical concentrations in management, marketing, and international business. The primary objective of the DBA program at Canyon College is to create graduates who will continue to develop their respective professions through advanced theories and practices. Canyon College’s Business Faculty The faculty members in our doctoral program have doctorate degrees from accredited universities in commensurate areas and profound experience in academics, consulting, and business practice. They have theoretical and practical experience in the areas of their specialization and in global issues and how these issues impact business. Admission Procedures The following documents must accompany the doctoral enrollment application:
Students may transfer up to four courses (12 semester hours) from other institutions they have attended. A grade of B or better is required for transfer. Requirements for the Doctoral Degree in Business Administration The doctoral candidate at Canyon College must complete 60 semester hours. Forty-five (45) hours entail the completion of fifteen (15) classes; the remaining 15 hours are the candidate’s doctoral dissertation. After the completion of the 15 classes, the candidate is eligible to take the Comprehensive Examination. All students are required to take and pass written comprehensive examinations.
