Perkins, Maximum Security Hospital, Jessup, MD, In this Forensic Hospital my duties involved psychotherapy, with individuals, groups and families, evaluations focusing on, Competency and Responsibility, differential diagnoses for patients with histories and conviction of homicide, aggravated assault, rape, sexual assaults, and child abuse. In addition to assessment for Competency and Responsibility, I frequently conducted psychological evaluations of dangerousness and readiness to return to the community

Springfield State Hospital, I conducted individual, family, and group psychotherapy, sychodiagnostics, especially forensic evaluations, training, and consultation for Masters level psychologists, social workers, and nurses. In this position, I also performed psychiatric admissions and Mental Status exams, represented the Geriatric Department in Commitment Hearings, and wrote Psychiatric Discharges.

Population of 1500-1900 inmates.
My work involved crisis intervention, forensic screening and psychodiagnosis, individual and group psychotherapy with specialty groups of juveniles, armed robbers, first time offenders, drug offenders, and training for graduate psychology students from Loyola College in Baltimore. I provided Expert Witness testimony for both sentencing, commitments, as well as ongoing consultation to the courts regarding disposition. During 1976-77, I provided staff consultation and evaluations of prisoner readiness to return to the community, as part of the Maryland Board of Community Based Corrections.

For an exclusively African American patient population, I provided initial psychological screening and consultation to the center's psychiatrists, as well as conducting individual, group, and family psychotherapy.

I have also been a volunteer with the Mental Health Division of the local Red Cross for over 5 years, quitting about a year ago.
