Biographical Information
William Flood is a career counselor and management consultant with a
multidisciplinary background in the social sciences and business management.
Mr. Flood works as an adjunct faculty member with several institutions of
higher education in Maryland and Virginia teaching a variety of courses in
the social sciences and business. In addition to his teaching
responsibilities, he operates a private consulting practice specializing
in small business development, and serves as a career counselor and advisor
to students at two Maryland colleges. Prior to his teaching and consulting
career, Mr. Flood worked in the information technology field with positions
in the private sector, environmental consulting industry, and federal
government.
Mr. Flood's specialty area is non-traditional career development including
working with clients pursuing entrepreneurship, job sharing, freelance work,
and consulting. He is currently conducting research into the application of
traditional career assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator for
people considering starting a small business, and hopes to develop one of
the first statistically valid career tests that can accurately predict
success as an entrepreneur.
Mr. Flood received his master's degree in counseling from the University of
Delaware, and has an MBA in progress at Regent University in Virginia. His
undergraduate degree is in education from the University of Maryland.
