(Donnelly Optics is a high technology producer of plastic
defractive and other lenses.)
Responsible for Projects, Procedures and Processes. Researched, analyzed and
planned the assembly processes, especially those using adhesive to bond
plastic components. Major Achievement: Flew to China and to resolve a
technical problem in three days to save one of the companies largest customers.
Responsible for all Work Instructions, Bills of Materials, Process Flows and
the associated documentation. Used MS Project, Visio, e-mail and the Internet.
Manufacturing Project Engineer
October 1997 - January 1998
Anthony Manufacturing-Commercial, Rain Bird Sprinkler Company, Tucson, AZ.
(Rain Bird is a major producer by irrigation equipment.) Researched, analyzed
and planned a five-year project saving $5 Million, by designing the system and
the process to produce coil assemblies in-house. Wrote the capital request for
the first phase and financilly justified the first $300,000 worth of capital
equipment in two and one half months. Research via the Internet and other
various sources. Planned the project with MS Project '98.
Senior Manufacturing Enigneer
September 1995 - September 1997
Waxing Corporation of America (WAXCOA), A Chamberlain Group Affiliate, Nogales,
Sonora, Mexico. (Chamberlain Group is the world's largest manufacturer of garage
door openers. WAXCOA is the industry leader manufacturing automotive waxers
and buffers.) Responsible for advising design engineers on the manufacturability
of designs, and then bringing the new product onto the production area. Responsible
for the layout of the production floor and the purchase of new capital equipment
as needed, such as the purchase of $60,000 worth of adhesive equipment that saved
the company $240,000 in the first year. Responsible for writing Capital Requests
with an 85% success rate. Process Engineer for Advanced Adhesive Applications.
Experience with Design of Experiment Testing for Product Reliability. Expertise
in designing and documenting processes and troubleshooting process problems.
Major Accomplishments: Introduction of three radically different designs, the
WB9000, RA7000, and the Detailing Tool, on two new flexible manufacturing lines
into the production floor in a four month period. Increased productivity 10%
by changing to flexible manufacturing without capital improvements. Managed an
ongoing project that saved the company $265,000 in 18 months in three phases.

(Nordson is the global leader in the adhesive and coating equipment industry.)
Building configurable and custom machinery for an international customer base
while administering the departmental budget of $400,000 supporting 22 production
and technician team members. Managed all capital projects, troubleshooting technical
manufacturing problems, and analyzing day to day operations. Major accomplishments:
Received acclaim from technical upper management for the innovative redesign and
rearrange of the large custom and configurable melter area. Gained ergonomic expertise
and then corrected the repetitive motion injury problems with ergonomic solutions
reducing medical costs by over $10,000 and increased productivity in 15 months
with an investment of only $1600.

March 1992 - December 1993
Nonwovens Systems Group, Nordson Corporation, Duluth, Georgia. Technical liasion
between sales and manufacturing to assure customers' satisfaction, while performing
routine marketing functions and assisting salespeople and supplying technological
information to international customers. Put quotes together and answered technical
questions for the international sales force. Worked closely with departmental lab
to develop and test new technology. Managed a developing technology project. Major
Accomplishments: Planning and implementing trade shows and marketing projects
