Job responsibilities included initial intake of pediatric patients referred by state social workers, pediatricians, educators and adoptive parents. Initial Assessment and Evaluations were completed with information provided by clinical team members, family, caregivers and or patients. Assessments completed in accordance to initial intake directives. Assessments included but were not limited to Biopsychosocial Assessment, Depression Scales, Post Traumatic Stress Evaluation, Vanderbilt Assessments, Neurobehavioral Assessments & Self Harm Inventory. Comprehensive treatment plans were completed utilizing highly specialized child psychiatric planning inventories in conjunction with DSM IV diagnosis criteria. Sexual Abuse, Physical Abuse, Trauma and abandonment issues were common issues that were addressed with application of therapeutic measures and interventions. Conjoint therapy was often utilized to assure caregiver understanding of the maladaptive behaviors that manifest due to abuse, trauma and neglect.

Public Health Specialist responsible for disease surveillance, community education, processing of immigrants with identifiable communicable disease and writing of emergency response plans for naturally occurring disease outbreak responses and intentional biological release response. Responsible for disease surveillance in Region X consisting of Alaska, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Oregon and all international ports. Skills required to co-diagnose transmittable diseases with on call CDC doctors based on symptomology and make decisions regarding further investigation that may or may not lead to quarantine. Boarded International conveyances including inbound international flights, commercial marine vessels, cruise ships etc. to inspect and examine passengers and employees for signs and symptoms of infectious disease that may present harm to overall public health and safety.

Provided special projects by CDC medical doctors in Atlanta; requiring working with other agencies with vested interest in disease control and surveillance to write protocol and procedures for rapid response to biological outbreak.

Under the direction of Dr. D. Kim at the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine wrote procedures to increase efficacy of rapid transport of botulinum antitoxin through out Region X. Utilized Epi-X classified disease surveillance program to track potential outbreaks in our regions. Prepared and wrote daily reports to Atlanta headquarters regarding daily activities in Region X.

Coordinated and implemented a monthly teleconference with Homeland security; to assure communication & education of signs and symptoms of biological release of contaminants and the use of personal protective equipment, universal precautions when working with immigrant populations.

Responsible for education of general public and employees at SeaTac International Airport regarding SARS and Avian Flu, transmission and symptoms of infectious disease. Highly versed on epidemiology, obtained Epidemiologist Certificate from the CDC 3030-G
