Biographical Information

My name is George E. Thibodeaux and I am an instructor in Business concentrating in mathematical applications. I am a life long resident of Louisiana. I grew up in a small paper mill town, went to school at Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans, lived in a New Orleans suburb for 25 years, and finally ended up in Baton Rouge. My lovely wife of 28 years and I are blessed with 3 daughters. Fortunately they are now self sufficient, one working as a consultant in systems audit for a major accounting firm, and the other two are Civil Engineers.
My work experience has been primarily in the electric utility and oil and gas exploration industries. I have extensive experience in money management and bank relations, finacial planning and forecasting, contract administration, and oil and gas operations.

Education:

1968-72, Louisiana State University, BS Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry
1972-73, Ochsner Foundation Hospital, Registered Respiratory Therapist
1974-76, University of New Orleans, MBA concentrating in Finance

Professional Experience:

1976-79, Ocean Drilling and Exploration Company, Cash Manager and Accounts and Accounts Payable Supervisor

• Established a full cash management system
• Responsible for bank relations, and foreign exchange
• Responsible for letters-of-credit and commodities futures

1979-92, Entergy Corporation, Cash Manager, Fuels Contact Administrator, Nuclear Fuel Market Analyst

• Purchased petroleum products in excess of $100 million annually
• Administered all aspects of purchase and sales contracts in volumes up to 2 million barrels per month
• Developed the concept and background for Natural Gas Futures applications

1992-Present, Louisiana Generating, LLC, Senior Financial Analyst, Assistant Risk Manager, Contracts Administrator

• Administer multiply maintenance contracts
• Responsible for cash and proforma forecasts and budgets
