Summary
My experience in the insurance industry is both varied and extensive. I have worked as an insurance company underwriter, both with an MGA and with a large retail agency. I’ve spent time working with other agencies marketing and placing commercial accounts. I’ve also worked as a commercial producer, soliciting new accounts and managing an existing book of commercial business. I gained valuable management experience as a department manager and as an agency branch office manager. I believe my company, marketing and sales experience gives me a unique perspective of the insurance business and in particular the retail agency business.

Work History

ICT Group, LLC
In October of 1994, I joined what was then Insurance Center as the branch manager of the newly acquired Lake Charles office. I supervised ten (10) employees and managed a substantial book of personal lines business. My responsibilities also included recruiting additional commercial producers, soliciting new commercial accounts and managing a commercial book of business.
Over the years with Insurance Center and now ICT Insurance, I have been an agency manager, commercial producer, commercial lines marketing specialist and account manager. I have worked with many insurance companies and brokers to develop products needed by the agency. I also helped to successfully land the Zurich General Store program; an agency underwriting program for energy related accounts that was given to only one other agency in LA. My current position is account manager for one of the agency’s largest commercial sales unit.

McElveen Insurance Agency (Arthur J. Gallegher)
My job responsibilities with the McElveen agency in Lake Charles were the marketing and placing of commercial lines accounts; participating in producer development and training; and developing sales and marketing strategies and goals for the agency.

Burch, Marcus, Pool, Krupp, Daniel and Babineaux
The responsibilities of this position involved marketing and placing of commercial lines accounts (mostly oil & gas related), meeting with company underwriters and brokers and accompanying producers on sales calls and presentations.

Perkins-McKenzie Insurance Agency
At this smaller Baton Rouge agency, I was in charge of quoting and placing commercial accounts and assisting the producers in proposals and presentations.

Wright & Percy Insurance Agency
During my nine year tenure as the marketing manager, for this large Baton Rouge agency, I was responsible for the quoting, marketing and placing of commercial lines accounts. I accompanied producers on sales calls and presentations; visited with company underwriters and brokers; and managed four in-house agency underwriting programs.

Audubon Insurance
My insurance career began here as a personal lines underwriter. After two years, I moved into commercial lines underwriting where I underwrote for a group of small to mid-size agencies across LA & MS.
